For haulers

Starting a junk removal business?

The basics are a truck, somewhere to dump, and a steady way to find jobs.

What you need to start hauling junk and debris: equipment, dump fees, pricing, insurance and finding your first jobs.

DebrisDash connects people with independent haulers. It is not a hauling company.

How coverage works

Post a request anywhere. Haulers on DebrisDash nearby can see it.

DebrisDash does not launch city by city. It works wherever independent local haulers are using the app, and anyone can post a request anywhere. Whether a hauler responds, and how fast, depends on who is nearby, and availability grows as more local haulers join. We cannot promise a response in any specific area.

01
Equipment

A pickup truck and a 12 to 16 foot dump trailer cover most household jobs. Straps, a dolly, gloves and a tarp come next.

02
Know your dump sites

Landfills, transfer stations, scrapyards and receiver sites take different materials at different prices. The DebrisDash map shows dumps, scrapyards and receiver sites.

03
Paperwork

Check your state and local rules for a business license, commercial vehicle insurance and anything needed to haul waste. Talk to a licensed professional for advice.

04
Find jobs

Word of mouth and marketplaces like DebrisDash bring in work. On DebrisDash, people post the job with photos and pay, and you choose what to take.

Questions

Useful answers,
without the runaround.

What does DebrisDash take?

Card processing (2.9% + 30¢) and a 15% DebrisDash fee come out of the posted price. A $100 pickup pays about $82.28 before your fuel and dump fees.

When do I get paid?

The payment is released to your Stripe account when the poster confirms, or 24 hours after you finish if there is no dispute. Stripe then pays your bank on its schedule.
